What could be more fun than discovering our backyard by bike? Van der Valk is happy to make it easy for you, and that’s why we created Backyard, the cycling app that links your hotel stay to tailor-made, beautiful bike routes in the immediate vicinity of your Van der Valk hotel.
Backyard is your ultimate cycling buddy app that turns your hotel stay into a local adventure. With Backyard you can explore a range of carefully curated bike routes around your hotel and discover unique hotspots that tourists usually miss.
Each route is enriched with can't-miss hotspots, such as hidden viewpoints, popular cafés, historic attractions and local gathering spots.
Backyard is more than a cycling app; it is a unique way to experience your travel destinations. Whether you stay one night or a week, let Backyard guide you to the local experiences that make your trip unforgettable.
Do you have to pay for the app?
No, the app is free to download and use. You will also be able to continue using the app for free in the future.
Will there be more cycling routes?
Yes, many more routes will be listed in the app for each hotel! The app has only just gone live, so the number will increase significantly. So keep a close eye on the app!
What data is collected from the user?
The data we have from you are the data you yourself entered when registering (email address, password, first and last name, gender, age, cycling expertise and bicycle type). In addition, we collect information about how you use our app. Such as which features you use, which routes you cycle/approach, how much and how often you cycle and have cycled and information about the device you use. We will NEVER share privacy-sensitive information with third parties.
How are these data used?
To communicate with you and to promote the safety, integrity and security of the app. But also to improve our product and to measure and analyze the effectiveness of the app.
Where can you submit your feedback/ cycling experience?
Users can leave their feedback at the reception, they will ensure that this reaches the app makers.
Bike rental
With the bike rental at Van der Valk Hotel Nuland - 's-Hertogenbosch you can leave your own bike at home and still fully enjoy the Brabant countryside. We are happy to help you choose the bike that suits you best. Both electric bikes and geared bikes.
If you bring your own (electric) bicycle, you can store and charge it in our bicycle parking.

eBike (electric bike): 1 day €25,00
Junctions
Along the cycle paths there are signs with the junction numbers and arrows that show you the right way. At each junction there is also a panel with a route map, so that you can always adjust the route. The distances between the junctions are also indicated on them.

Enjoy everything that makes your stay extra enjoyable. You work out in our fitness, explore the area with an e chopper and make use of fast wifi throughout the hotel. For something special we have a private cinema and luxury wellness suites. In the grand café you can sit comfortably and relax all day.
